and the "Good Kits" Fabrication Platform

Present: A Proposal

This is the machine that I want to buy, and build a business around. Fully equipped, it costs about $80k, and should last about 30 years. A typical CNC cutting fee is $200/hr, so a machine like this has the capacity to generate a huge amount of revenue.

To start off, I think installing it in a shipping container would be a good idea.

A setup like this, consisting of 2 20 ft shipping containers, can be transported as one flatbed truck load. It occupies 720 sq ft of space, which is a nice size to start. The arched tarp roof is inexpensive and lightweight, but only suitable for warm weather. For starting out, that's ok.

This is the beginning of a truck camper that I built using the same CNC machine shown above.

The camper unbolts into panels, which are light enough that I was able to raise and lower them from a Brooklyn rooftop with a manual pulley system. The panelized construction is something that the CNC machine make very easy.

The structure is built from this kit-of-parts, which snap together like puzzle pieces. They're compact and lightweight and easy to transport, but they assemble together in a large and impressive sculptural structure.
